Sum, Sum, Summertime

A new season, and another new beginning.

This is a very new and different season in my life. For the first time in my adult life, I have a summer vacation! I left my job as a CPA at a public accounting firm at the end of May. No plans, no interviews. This is really a season for me to reset, regroup, and refocus my life. Things have been going sideways for a while now, and before they spiraled out of control, I needed to take a break.

First Tomatoes

My days are now filled with chores, meal planning, budgeting, reading, and gardening. Who knew that I could garden? I actually have tomato plants that are as tall as I am. I must say that I'm quite impressed. And as mundane as a typical day may seem, I'm really enjoying it.

In the spirit of the new season, J and I hit up the Dairy Queen at about 9:30 pm last night. That is the best way to start this season of summer. I'm so lucky to get to share this journey with him.
